Latitude 33 will be providing engineering services for the Valley CenterPoint Master Planned, 20,000 SF public library expected to open March 2022. The project will include a community room, an outdoor patio, adult, teen and children’s section, as well as an expanded staff workroom. The library broke ground in October 2022.
Location: El Centro, CA
Client/Team: Ferguson Pape Baldwin Architects
Status: In Construction
Fun Fact: The project will also include design elements that pay homage to the city and region’s topography. Some of the facility’s walls will be constructed of “rammed earth,” which uses compressed raw materials to achieve an earthen look. In the library’s case, it will be deployed to mimic the appearance of the canyon walls of the Painted Gorge area near Ocotillo.
