Latitude 33 provided civil engineering and survey services for the San Diego County Crime Lab facility located at the County’s Operation Center campus. This $107 million, four-story, 158,000-square-foot office building houses 200 employees and has been deemed the most technologically advanced forensics laboratory in the world. Unique aspects of the project included a 30-foot-tall basement for evidence storage and accommodating the labyrinth of existing utilities around the proposed building site. As engineer for the entire COC campus, engineering services provided by Latitude 33 included field survey, site planning, grading and improvement plans, technical reports, processing/project revisions, and construction administration.
